LEARNING SPECIALIST
As a dedicated educator and reading specialist, Krista is passionate about empowering individuals to unlock their full potential through effective learning strategies. Krista received her undergraduate degree from UCSB and her MA in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University. She continued her education to become a Reading Specialist at UCSD. With a decade of experience in the field of education as a lead classroom teacher and a strong background in literacy, Krista has honed her skills in creating tailored learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles and needs. Her approach is anchored in evidence-based practices, and she stays current with the latest developments in educational research to ensure the best outcomes for her students. Krista's expertise extends to areas such as foundational reading skills, individualized instruction, and curriculum development. She has completed training with LETRS, Heggerty, Responsive Classroom, and Cognitive Guided Instruction (CGI) Math.
Outside of her professional life, Krista loves spending time with her daughter, husband, and English Bulldog. She is an avid reader and enjoys cooking.

Haley De La Rosa

Haley is a passionate educator with extensive experience in teaching a diverse range of learners. She has completed various training programs, including Orton Gillingham-based UFLI Structured Literacy, Illustrative Math, Peer Assisted Learning/Literacy Strategies, Fundamentals of SEL, and others, all of which have contributed to her development of a well-rounded approach to teaching.
Firmly believing in the significance of social-emotional learning, Haley strives to establish a positive and inclusive learning environment where her students can thrive. Her track record proves her ability to work effectively with students of different learning abilities and styles, making learning engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
With a BA in Liberal Studies and an emphasis in Health, Kinesiology, and Recreation, as well as a Teaching Credential and Masters Degree in Education, Haley's educational background is impressive. Alongside her teaching experience, she also has a decade of experience managing a gymnastics studio, where she taught children aged 1.5 to 18 years old, organizing weekly themed classes and camps. She has also taught at Grant Elementary in Santa Monica, CA and is an Associate Teacher at New Roads Elementary School.
Haley's teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a love for learning in her students. She firmly believes that when students feel genuinely invested and engaged in their education, they are more likely to achieve academic and personal success. As a lifelong learner herself, Haley continually seeks new ways to enhance her teaching methods and strategies

Her true passion lies in working with children and teaching them how to read and write. During her free time, Haley enjoys taking walks with her husband and puppy, as well as spending quality time with her family and friends.
Shanna Trombetta
EDUCATIONAL THERAPIST

Shanna is a certified Educational Therapist through the Association of Educational Therapists. She has completed extensive training with a focus on dyslexia and structured literacy development including, Orton-Gillingham, Barton, Lively Letters, Wilson Fundations, and Handwriting Without Tears. Additionally, she has training in Singapore Math, and Zones of Regulation.
She holds a Masters in Educational Psychology and B.A. in Special Education/Psychology from Marist College. She earned her Educational Therapy Certification through UC Riverside, and a CLEAR credential from the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing for grades K-6, and is CLAD certified.
With over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and private homeschool teacher, Shanna has extensive knowledge about working with neurodiverse children, dyslexia, and language based disabilities.
She is an active Associate Member of the Association of Educational Therapists, serves on the Scholarship Committee of the Los Angeles Dyslexia Association, and is a Child Nexus Affiliate.
Fun Facts: In her spare time, Shanna loves spending time with her daughters, husband and puppy. She can also be found at the beach reading a good book!
Nicole Meyer

Nicola Meyer was born in South Africa and moved to Los Angeles when she was in high school. Both of her parents were educators and becoming a teacher was always her dream. She started her career as an educator while in college. Nicola worked as a teaching assistant while she attended UCLA and received both her Bachelor’s degree and Multiple Subject–Clear Credential from there. She also has a Masters degree in Education from Pepperdine University.
Nicola taught in public and private schools for over 20 years. While teaching intervention groups she realized that she had found her niche. In 2018 Nicola returned to college and received her Educational Therapy Certificate from CSUN. She has been working as an Educational Therapist ever since.
Nicola is trained in the Orton-Gillingham Reading program, Wilson Reading, Singapore Math, and Step-Up to Writing . She is an Associate Member of the Association of Educational Therapists (ET/Associate).
Nicola enjoys spending time with her family. She has a 16 year old daughter, in 11th grade, and a 20 year old son, in college. She also loves to cook, read, and spend time with her 2 labradors.
Jolene Smith
EARLY CHILD LEARNING ART SPECIALIST

Jolene Smith has been a teacher for over 25 years. She began her teaching career at All Saints in Beverly Hills, which is now Evergreen in Santa Monica. Jolene taught at First Pres of Santa Monica for over 20 years, working as a lead classroom teacher, as well as teaching woodworking and art. She also taught the summer Arts Path program at Crossroads for over 10 years, refining her ability to teach multi-aged groups.
Jolene loves teaching art, exploring learning concepts, and seeing children learn. She is inspired by the Reggio approach and working with children to support their cognitive, creative, and social emotional development.

Jolene has a Certificate in Early Childhood, a BFA from UC Davis, and recently completed a certificate in Supervision and Administration in Early Childhood at UCLA last summer.
When she is not working, Jolene enjoys making art, creating things, swimming, and reading. She also likes to go to the beach and picnics, and has a cat named Carson and a new puppy named Moose. Jolene grew up in Hawaii and loves going to the beach!
